Brody Dalle puts LA punks The Distillers on backburner to concentrate on new band Spinnerette. Brody Dalle, frontwoman and guitarist with punk rockers The Distillers, is back after a two-year hiatus. The tattooed singer, who is enjoying married life with Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, became a mother in January 2006 with the arrival of baby Camille Harley Homme.
Since the baby's birth, the singer had taken a break from the music industry, but in an exclusive chat with Kerrang!, she now reveals her reinvigorated plans for world domination and the early stages of her new band, Spinnerette....

Don’t expect motherhood to soften Brody Dalle up.The ex-Distillers frontwoman has been cranking out confrontational, punishing punk rock for most of her existence. Starting as a teenager in Australia, she formed the Distillers with friend Kim Chi in 1998. Two years later, the band was signed to Epitaph and ready to release its self-titled debut. After losing most of her original lineup in 2002, Dalle came back with a new band (Ryan Sinn on bass and Andy Granelli as drummer), toured the U.S. with No Doubt and Garbage and released the more nuanced Sing Sing Death House. The last Distillers album, the ravaging Coral Fang in 2003, reflected growing tensions as Dalle’s marriage with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong ended.

For longtime fans of former Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle, one question springs to mind if they've seen this picture. What happened to her luscious raven locks?
"They say that you've gotta stop the black at some point, otherwise it's the Cher syndrome," Dalle tells Spinner of returning to her natural blonde roots. "But you can't stop it because it's what you become used to. That, and you can't actually get it out of your hair. I would still have black hair but it's just a b**** to get out."....

Quite a few things have changed since we last saw Miss Brody Dalle lead the Distillers across the globe in support of their third album, ‘Coral Fang.’ She became a Mrs. to Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, a mom to beautiful baby Camille and sent out word she’d started a new band, Spinnerette, after disbanding the Distillers... How old where you when you started playing the guitar?I was 13 years old . My uncle frazer was a muso and surfer , he had a 1960’s rickenbacker that i used to drool over and a couple of old acoustics , one of which he gave me . He taught me a few chords the easiest being e major and e minor , i would play these chords over and over and over for hours , until my fingers were severly blistered .When did you move to the U.S from Australia?April 8th 1997 , i’m coming up on 10 years ! And i plan to partey for 24 hours straight .[more here ]
